Event Logistics

packet Pickup

Packet pickup is available at the venue on race day at the Session Series tent. Please arrive with enough time (at least 1 hour prior to your start time) to pick up and attach your number plate before riding up to the start.

Plates must be mounted horizontally on handlebars. You will reuse your plate each week if doing the series.

Directions & Parking

FLOYD HILL

DIRECTIONS
Headed West-Bound on I-70, take Exit 248. Take the North Side frontage road (HWY 40) for approximately 1.5 miles.

Headed East-Bound on I-70, take Exit 247.

PARKING
All participant parking is at the Clear Creek County High School. The High School is about 1 mile away from the venue, so plan accordingly. Consider it a warm up.

  • There is absolutely no parking on the frontage roads, no parking at the Park’n’Ride, and no parking at the antique store. You will be fined and towed if you are found parking in the wrong area. Please, don’t get these races shut down by parking where you’re not supposed to.

Maryland Mountain

DIRECTIONS
Our Maryland Mountain venue is at the Hidden Treasure Trailhead, just North of Black Hawk, Colorado.

PARKING
There are two options for the Maryland Mountain Session Series parking:

  1. The Overflow Parking Lot just South of the Hidden Treasure Lot. This will be obvious, just off of HWY 119. It will fill up quickly.

  2. The Black Hawk Parking Garage. This will put you about 1 mile away from the race venue, so you get to warm up those legs with a short pedal up to the fun.

RIDER DROP OFF
If you’re dropping a rider off, please drop them off at the Overflow lot. Please don’t shuttle them up to the Hidden Treasure Parking lot. There’s too much going on up there for a stream of cars to be coming in and out dropping people off.

Vendors & Team Tents

Reserve your space for a team tent at the 2024 Session Series! Each week costs $50 for a 10'x10' space. You also receive 2 parking spaces onsite. No other parking is allowed at Session Series venue other than sponsors and teams. Limited to 10 teams per week.

Rules

We know, we know. Rules are meant to be broken. But please, for the safety of yourself, the other riders, and these races, pay attention to and follow the few rules that we have for you.

  • No alcohol before racing. You will forfeit your entry–save it for later.

  • Full face helmet is required for racing the event. Helmets will be checked at the top of the run.

  • If another rider comes up from behind and wants to pass, you MUST let them pass. If they caught you, they are faster than you.

  • We also highly suggest gloves, elbow, knee, neck and spine guards. Check out the sponsors / gear at the event.

  • Have FUN!! This is a local, weekday race series, not the EWS. Be cool.

Spectators

MARYLAND MOUNTAIN
Spectators are not allowed on the course at Maryland Mountain. You will be able to watch riders finish at the bottom of Hard Money.

FLOYD HILL
Spectators may watch from the venue or along (never on) designated areas of the trail (follow signs).

VOLUNTEER!
Want to cheer on the riders and do a little good? We LOVE volunteers. You get a Yeti T-shirt and beer or soda for a couple hours of your day.

Weather

A wet course is a dangerous course. We not only care about your safety, we are environmental stewards and do not want to decimate the area that has taken so much time and money to create. Clear Creek County or City of Black Hawk will determine if we can’t ride. In case of cancellation, we will post on our website and contact you directly via email as late as noon on the day of the event.
